Schatz Dominates At Princeton Once Again

Leading all 40 laps of the PolyDome Princeton National at Princeton Speedway, Donny Schatz dominated the competition and earned his second consecutive victory at the venue.

 

Schatz is the first driver to have two straight wins at the track in series history.

 

"Princeton has been good to me," Schatz stated. "We've had a lot of fun here. I'm glad to get to Victory Lane again. It's always good."

Bodine Makes Impressive Pass To Collect Second Win Of 2008 Season

Beginning the race in the fifth position, Todd Bodine showed the nation that he was capable of winning by leading the competition several times throughout the race. Sure it's good to lead, but theres only one time that it means anything... when that checkerd flag is woven.

 

Bodine was in the lead at the conclusion of the race, earning his second consecutive victory at Talladega Superspeedway.

 

A tremendous last lap pass of Kyle Busch made everything possible.

Non-Chase Drivers Dominate Talladega Qualifying

For the second week in a row, non-Chase drivers dominated qualifying while many Chase drivers struggled. Last week at Kansas only two Chase drivers (Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth) qualified in the top-10, yet in Saturday's time trials Carl Edwards was the fastest championship contender in twelfth.

 

Yates Racing's Travis Kvapil took the top-spot Saturday afternoon after laying down a fast lap of 51.109 seconds at 187.364 mph to earn his first career pole in his 100th career start.

Kraig Kinser Keeps Up The Family Tradition

Starting in the fourth position, Kraig Kinser was able to use the skills passed down to the third generation driver to collect the win at North Central Speedway's inaugural event.

 

The ability to make passes and perform well in lapped traffic ultimately led him to victory lane after Friday night's festivities in Brainerd, Minnesota.

 

"I know that Lucas (Wolfe) wants to get that win," said Kinser. "I caught him in traffic and got by and then Joey (Saldana) broke. Having clean track helped, but I think I was a little better than Lucas in traffic anyway. I wasn't sure if I had beaten Lucas back to the line (before the caution) and had to make sure that I was leading."
