Yesterday was a busy day in Las Vegas. The NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards, honoring people like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Dale Inman, were held at the Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino in the afternoon followed by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart’s Stewie Awards in the evening.
During the Myers Brothers Awards, 73-year-old, former crew chief Dale Inman received the prestigious Buddy Shuman Award which honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport and is named after Shuman, an early NASCAR driver. “Dale is one of the first crew chiefs I worked for and remains a true trailblazer for that position,” NASCAR Vice President of Competition, Robin Pemberton, said. “He’s a major reason and inspiration behind many of the current talented people working in the NASCAR Sprint Cup garage.” |

The National Motorsports Press Association recognized longtime radio broadcaster Barney Hall during the NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards event Thursday in the Venetian Showroom at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, presenting him the prestigious Myers Brothers Award.
Hall was inducted into the NMPA Hall of Fame in 2007 and recently completed his 51st year covering auto racing. “Despite all of NASCAR’s changes through the years, Barney Hall remains one of the sport’s constants," said NMPA President Dustin Long. “Barney is a regular Sunday visitor to many fans. He takes them to the track, describes the scene and shares unique stories about their racing heroes. He works with a grace and style that earns the respect of many." |

Richard Childress Racing’s driver development program has signed Tim George Jr. to drive the No. 31 Chevrolet Impala for the 2010 ARCA RE/MAX Series season.
28-year old George, Jr. hails from the state of New York and has nearly five years of auto-racing experience on his resume. George, Jr. recently completed his rookie season in the ARCA Series, posting an 11th place finish in the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series point’s standings. |

Toyota Tundra drivers collected 14 victories in the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, which earned Toyota its fourth consecutive manufacturer’s title in the series.
Kyle Busch won a series-high seven Truck Series races for Billy Ballew Motorsports. Mike Skinner won three races, Todd Bodine had two, Timothy Peters and Brian Scott both had one victory. |
