Richmond International Raceway kicked off its 5th annual charity campaigns to benefit the Central Virginia Foodbank and Toys for Tots. The month-long campaign will run from November 16th through December 18th.
Hardcore race fans in the Charlotte, North Carolina area deciding to put a real Christmas tree up this holiday season have the opportunity to help look after children in need by participating in the Speedway Children’s Charities annual Christmas Tree Sale.
The sale began on November 24 and is located across the street from Lowe’s Motor Speedway’s main entrance at the Windy Ridge Tree Lot.
In addition to the Fraser Fir Christmas trees being sold, Hardcore race fans also have the option to purchase wreaths, garland, bows and tree stands. A portion of the earnings will go to help children in need.

Continuing with the Pennsylvania Posse, driver Lance Dewease overcame a serious injury during the 2009 season. Among his many career highlights, Dewease was earned the “King of the Posse” title in 2006 and 2007.
With his 24th place finish in the season ending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Joey Logano clinched the 2009 Raybestos Rookie of the Year award over fellow contenders Scott Speed and Max Papis.
Logano’s achievements made him the third driver in Joe Gibbs Racing history, after Tony Stewart (1999) and Denny Hamlin (2006), to earn the Rookie of the Year honors. He is also the youngest driver in series history to earn the award.
“It’s really cool to get the Raybestos Rookie of the Year," Logano said. "It’s obviously one of our big goals.”
