Snowin' In The South
Friday, 07 March 2008 19:00

The NASCAR community awoke this morning to blistering cold snowy conditions at Atlanta Motor Speedway. As flurries continue to fall and the wind blows, jet dryers are slowly pacing the speedway in an attempt to keep the track as dry as possible.

Nationwide Series qualifying is scheduled to run at 9:15 a.m. ET, however will undoubtedly be delayed. The Sprint Cup Series has two 45-minute morning practices scheduled for 10:35 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., followed by final practice at 12:30 p.m.

These times will most likely be shifted depending on the weather. Snow and flurries are forecasted for all morning and into the afternoon, and for the second day in a row, teams, fans and track officials are at the mercy of Mother Nature and simply have to play the waiting game.
