Leaving Richmond International Raceway, Kyle Busch is in the dog house for sure. A late-race crash with fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. Saturday night and a post-race incident with Steven Wallace Friday night have Busch on the top of many fan’s ‘Most Hated’ list.
Although it may seem so, Kyle Busch is not always as ‘Rowdy’ as he is on the track. The 22-year-old standout also has many causes close to his heart, especially his love for dogs. This weekend, Busch got together with his sponsor PEDIGREE to announce the creation of “Kyle’s Miles”. The goal of the program is raise at least $100,000 for the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive Foundation, which raises awareness and money for “the four million dogs in shelters and breed rescue organizations.”
“As the owner of two dogs,” Busch explained, “I know how happy they can make you, so to me it’s really sad that each year four million dogs end up in animal shelter and breed rescue organizations and two million never make it out. “‘Kyle’s Miles’ hopes to raise money and awareness for the dogs that are so often overlooked and I’m excited to be able to do my part to help.” Fans can help out from May 1, 2008 until October 15, 2008, by logging onto www.Dogsrule.com and making a minimum $10 donation to ‘Kyle’s Miles’. The donations will go directly to help the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive Foundation. Not only will fans be able to help the Foundation and millions of dogs throughout the United States, anyone who makes a donation will automatically be entered to win an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Phoenix to meet Busch and attend the Checker Auto Parts 500 on November 9, 2008 at Phoenix International Raceway.
