 A.J. Allmendinger started the Sprint Showdown from outside of row two and it didn\'t take him long to get out front after an early race incident with polesitter Elliott Sadler.
Allmendinger dominated the event after taking the lead and went on to take the victory and a starting spot in the All-Star Race. \"I don\'t know why he would take me out so early in the race. Maybe that\'s why they take him out of the car every other week,\" a disappointed Sadler said after he was sidelined as a result of the contact with Allmendinger. Sam Hornish, Jr. finished second after starting eighth, earning him the final transfer in to the All-Star Race.
