Hoping to rebound from his disappointment at Darlington Raceway, Greg Biffle appears to be a major contender for the win in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600. The Roush Fenway Racing driver was the runner-up in last week's Sprint All-Star Race and will start Sunday's race from the fourth position. The driver of the No. 16 Dish Network Ford Fusion was second fastest in Thursday morning's opening practice and paced the field during today's opening session.
"We're real happy with the car," Biffle said. "We're pretty good on a long run. We're not quite where we need to be yet, but we'll keep working on it. We didn't" put a whole lot into that practice. Yeah, we did get a fast lap to put us up at the top, but we didn't want to get too far out of bounds. We're gonna wait until this next practice session and try a couple of different springs and see exactly where we end up." Biffle has been on the verge of success in 2008, yet has struggled to find just what it takes to get into Victory Lane. With three top-fives and five top-tens, Biffle hopes Sunday's race will change his luck, "I'm really excited about [the race]. I've got a really good car and I can't wait." David Ragan, Biffle's Roush Fenway Racing teammate, was second fastest in the Saturday morning session, followed by Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart and David Reutimann. The Cup cars are getting ready to hit the track one more time in an attempt to get a gauge on their cars and make adjustments if necessary. Coverage of Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 begins 5:30 p.m. ET and can be seen live on FOX and heard on your local PRN station.
