Roush Fenway Racing showed their strength at Dover, claiming three of the top five and four of the top ten finishing positions in Sunday's Best Buy 400.
Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle combined to lead 231 of the scheduled 400 laps and crossed the line second and third, respectively, 4.224 seconds behind winner Kyle Busch.
Biffle looked to have the car to beat, recording the fastest lap of the race on lap three and going on to lead 164 circuits before experiencing battery failure on lap 170. Matt Kenseth brought his Ford home fourth as teammate Jamie McMurray, running strong for much of the day, finished tenth. Biffle enjoyed the largest points gain of the Roush Fenway drivers as a result of his third place finish, jumping six spots to fifth in the 2008 Cup Series points standings. Edwards moved up two positions to fourth and McMurray increased his points position one spot and is currently twenty second in the points race. McMurray left the Dover International Speedway without any comments to the media or Ford representatives regarding the widely circulated rumor that he will be leaving Roush Fenway at seasons end. Recent reports have McMurray currently looking for another team to drive for in 2009. Roush Fenway currently has five Cup teams and will be required by NASCAR to downsize to four by the end of 2009.
