Jeff Burton gained ground on Kyle Busch after recording a fifth place finish on Sunday’s Pocono 500.
Starting in the 20th position, RCR’s No. 31 team began to make adjustments to the car. As the race went on, Burton made his way up to the front to record his fourth Top-5 finish of the season.
Now just 21 points behind Kyle Busch, Burton looks to take the top spot in the point standings once again. Furthermore, Burton is delighted with the learning’s of his team over the course of the event. "At the start of the race, we weren't real good; we struggled a little bit," Burton said. "We made some changes about half way. Seemed like we kept losing our track position, but we got our car really good. There were times when we were the fastest car on the track, and that is a good sign. We came here and experimented with some stuff and think we can move forward with it."
