Wednesday, Greg Biffle and his wife Nicole will be honored by the North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) - the "world's largest no-kill pet rescue and adoption agency" - for their work on the Greg Biffle Foundation. Since its creation in 2005, the Greg Biffle Foundation has worked to rescue many animals, promote spay/neuter programs and has offered grants up to $100,000 to various shelters throughout the nation.
Working together with the North Shore Animal League America, the Greg Biffle Foundation sends on average 40 puppies a month from kill-shelters in North Carolina to the NSALA no-kill shelter in Port Washington, New York - where the organization is located. Greg and Nicole are also members of the NSALA's National Advisory Board. The Biffles will be honored at the Annual Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon and will be the recipients of the Just One Award for addressing "the critical status of pet over-population, and subsequent euthanizing of innocent animals, by promoting spay/neuter programs." Following Hurricane Katrina, the Greg Biffle Foundation raised over $50,000 for the animals affected by the devastating storm. The Foundation donated $10,000 to four shelters in the area, in addition to $10,000 for the NSALA - who rescued 300 animals in the aftermath. Along with these programs, the Greg Biffle Foundation has also put out a NASCAR Pets calendar for the past three years. The calendar features some of NASCAR's biggest stars alongside their families and pets. All proceeds from the calendars go directly to shelters and animals in need.
