Last weekend's performance by Kyle Busch is certainly something that he wants to forget. Just one week ago Kyle Busch attempted what no other driver had ever accomplished; running in three NASCAR series in three different cities. Busch ended up racing in all three races but his performance was lackluster and a little bad luck, coupled with a few key mistakes left Busch in a rut by the time it was all over on Sunday afternoon.
This weekend Kyle Busch will again attempt to run in three NASCAR series but this weekend should be a little easier on the 23 year old driver. Last weekend was nothing short of a never-ending marathon as Busch flew from track-to-track but, this weekend two of the three events will be held at the same track. The action will begin on Saturday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway where Busch will compete in the Cool City Customs 200 Craftsman Truck Series race. Following the truck race at Michigan, Busch will jet to Kentucky where the NASCAR Nationwide Series race will be held that same evening. On Sunday, Kyle Busch will hop into the driver's seat of the No. 18 Toyota and compete in the Cup Series LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway. This sounds like a tough weekend, even for the most seasoned driver but, don't expect Kyle Busch to emulate last weekend's uninspiring performance. Most Sprint Cup drivers concentrate solely on the Cup series during the stand-alone season and usually don't bother wearing themselves out by traveling from track to track to compete in NASCAR's junior series or for that matter, the truck series. Kyle Busch on the other hand is trying a different approach and, with a change of pace this weekend at Michigan he might have made the right bet. With ten wins racked up across the three NASCAR series so far this season is it any surprise to anyone that Kyle Busch doesn't want to sit back and watch his hard work in the other series disappear? Last weekend may have been a fluke for the Busch teams and with a little less traveling involved with this weekend's layout, Kyle Busch may be on track to rebound from last weekend's slip-ups.
