Tuesday Brad Daugherty stated that he will partner with JTG Racing.

The newly formed team, JTG/Daugherty Racing will field a Sprint Cup entry with Marcos Ambrose behind the wheel of the No. 47 Little Debbie Ford.

"I'm proud that I'm [one of] the first African-American owners at this level,'' Daugherty said. "I co-founded NASCAR's Diversity council about 15 years ago, and a lot of people have spent a lot of time to make this sport more inclusive.

He also plans to run a Nationwide team with youngster Coleman Pressley in the cockpit.

Daugherty is one of the few minorities in the ownership position in NASCAR and is thrilled to be there. He also hopes that there will be more minorities involved in the future.

"I hope this will open some doors for more minorities to become involved in this great sport,” Daugherty stated.
