In order to keep the fans happy at “the World Center of Racing”, Daytona International Speedway has begun renovating the lower grandstands in the DePalma and Oldfield Grandstands, and also the the Seagrave, Keech and Lockhart Grandstands. They will be replaced with chair seats with arm rests.
The speedway will also place new aluminum on all of the risers and walkways, add more handicap ramps and stairs to make for more access to the seating.
Track President Robin Braig looks forward to the upgrade. "These renovations will enhance the race fan's experience at Daytona International Speedway," Braig said. "We're very cognizant of our 'Fans 'R' 1st At Daytona' program and we're always looking for new opportunities to make the race fan's visit to 'The World Center of Racing' more memorable."
