Carl Edwards took the time Friday morning to talk with the morning radio comedy team of John Boy and Billy on their "Big Show", which is broadcast from their Charlotte, North Carolina studio each morning.

Edwards apparantly called in on his cell phone from New Hampshire for the light hearted interview and answered several questions including a few about his signature backflip. The popular Roush Racing driver introduced the backflip when he was a competitor in the Truck Series and fans have become accustomed to seeing Edwards perform the move after each victory.

The 2007 Nationwide Series champion told John Boy the fans always cheer when he does the backflip but added, "I think half of them want to see me do the backflip and the other half want to see me crash while doing the backflip."

"I didn't do it one time at Milwaukee and the fans booed," Edwards said when John Boy asked if he had done the backflip after every victory.

John Boy asked Edwards if he practices the backflip in his off time. "No, I don't," Edwards responded.

"I was at a dirt track when I messed up one time but there were no camera's so the only people who saw it were the people there at the track," Edwards said after being asked if the backflip had ever come out less than perfect while performing it in public.

Asked what some of the other drivers thought of his trademark backflip Edwards commented, "Kenny Schrader said 'thats ok, you go do all the backflips you want, I'm going to have some pizza and a beer.'"

John Boy countered, "That has worked real well for Schrader, he's been around a long time."
