So Happy He Could Do A Flip

Finishing third in the Sylvania 300, Carl Edwards' result was good enough to place him in a tie with Jimmie Johnson atop the Sprint Cup points standings.

With poor practice runs during the weekend, Edwards did not enter the race to sure of himself.

Edwards started in the second spot, to the right of Kyle Busch, and was able to lead some laps that came as a surprise to Edwards.

“Man, I feel like we won that thing just because of how terrible we were in practice, and to finish this well and to be tied with Jimmie there in the points, that's a huge day for us,” stated Edwards.

Totally not expecting the race to end up the way it did, Edwards left New Hampshire relieved and happy.

“I mean, for me, like I said, it's a huge relief,” exclaimed a happy Edwards. “I mean, I was out there thanking everyone I wanted to thank. Last night, I didn't go to bed thinking that today was gonna end up like this, so it's a huge relief for me.”
