Dodge Expected To Remain With GEM

Gillett Evernham Motorsports is expected to remain partners with Dodge, word of the organization's move to Toyota was referred to as "nothing but pure speculation" by Mike Delahanty, senior manager for Dodge Motorsports programs.

Sources of Fox Sports have revealed that GEM is currently in talks with Bill Davis Racing and may purchase the team, opening a path to the Toyota switch.

"Dodge and Gillett Evernham have a long history that dates back to our return to Sprint Cup racing. Dodge and GEM have a long-term contract in place, and we plan to continue as partners in NASCAR," Delahanty stated.

Delahanty continued, "We're aware and have had discussions about GEM's interest in adding a fourth car, but there's been never any discussion about running anything other than anything but a Dodge. Anything beyond that, we classify as just pure speculation."

Dodge has not had a fairytale year, Ryan Newman won the Daytona 500 and Kasey Kahne showed the most promise by winning two races and barely missing the Chase cutoff.

Although Dodge has withdrawn from the Craftsman Truck Series, the manufacturer has no plans of doing the same in NASCAR's top series.
