Kyle Busch has put on quite a show over the past two weekends; competing in three NASCAR series in several different cities. Busch has jetted to track, after track competing and sometimes outperforming some top names in the sport but, for the moment it looks as if the marathon may be over for Busch.
Kyle Busch is on the entry list for the Milwaukee NASCAR Nationwide series race this weekend but insiders are saying that he may stick to the Cup schedule and focus exclusively on NASCAR's top series. "We are so far behind in the Nationwide stuff it's not worth trying to catch back up," says Kyle Busch who is currently fifth in the Nationwide standings.
Busch is taking a more recreational look at the Nationwide series and the Craftsman truck series saying "We are just going to have fun now and win the races and not stress on getting to where we've got to go." The past two weekends have weighed on Kyle Busch and have narrowed his lead within the Sprint Cup. I've enjoyed seeing him compete in the three series over the past few weekends but as the Chase for the Sprint Cup inches closer it might be time for Busch to defend his number one spot for the Sprint Cup. Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing and the owner of Busch's #18 Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series says "A lot of people count on him -- obviously our sponsor and everything. You wouldn't want to do anything that would run the risk of jeopardizing what we have over here." Gibbs is talking about M&M's racing and the slew of sponsors that go along with Kyle Busch in the Sprint Cup series. Joe Gibbs calls Busch's idea to focus on the Sprint Cup series a "common sense discussion" and it looks like JGR has the most to gain from this decision. Kyle Busch will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup series but it's crystal clear where Kyle Busch will focus his energy for the remainder of the season.
