Sorenson Out This Weekend At Sonoma
Tuesday, 17 June 2008 19:00

In an ongoing search to make something out of a dismal season, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sebates will put road racing ace Scott Pruett behind the wheel of the No. 41 Target Dodge this weekend at Infineon. One disappointing run after another has put the No. 41 32nd in the owner standings, just 22 points ahead of the 35th-spot.

Pruett, who is a Ganassi Racing regular, will step in to lend a helping hand to a team that has been plagued by bad luck, poor finishes and crew chief changes. The California-native has one top-5 finish in six Cup Series starts at Infineon and is hoping to improve on that stat not only for himself, but also this struggling team.

Like many other drivers this weekend, Pruett will also pull "double-duty". Although he will not be making the trip to the Milwaukee Mile, the Chip Ganassi Racing driver will be heading to Lexington, Ohio on Friday to race his Daytona Prototype in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series with teammate Memo Rojas.

This driver change is a one-race only deal. Expect Sorenson back behind the wheel of the No. 41 Dodge when the series makes its way to New Hampshire. Perhaps the young driver could use the weekend off to re-evaluate the season and figure out where to go from here.
