Tony Stewart Feeling For His Teammate
Wednesday, 24 September 2008 05:52

Opening the Chase with a 34th place outing at New Hampshire and then moving on to Dover and finishing dead last, damaged Kyle Busch's chances at a Sprint Cup title.

Feeling his pain, teammate Tony Stewart extends a few words of advice to the unlucky driver.

Go out and win races... forget the championship.

"If I were the 18 team [of Busch], I’d go out there and just worry about winning races again," shared Stewart. "It’s been a remarkable, record-setting year for that kid, and the best way to finish it off now is to go out there and win three or four races during the Chase."

Starting the Chase in first, his two setbacks have sent him to the rock bottom. Now sitting 210 points out of the lead in last place, Busch has taken a severe blow to his confidence.

"It’s hard to tell him to keep his head up," Stewart said. "I mean, there’s nobody who’s going to make him feel better right now and rightfully so. The kid has worked hard all year. The team has worked hard all year. They’ve just had two bad races in a row, and that’s what you hope doesn’t happen, obviously. You feel for those guys.”
