David Ragan Back To Normal

After missing the Chase for the Sprint Cup due to a 32nd place finish at Richmond Ineternational Raceway, David Ragain looked more like he did earlier in the year after placing an eighth place finish in the Camping World RV 400 presented by Coleman.

Starting the race in the 12th spot, Ragan was able to move foward four spots to the eighth place spot finishing in front of finishing ahead of the likes of Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

“It was kind of what we needed,” Ragan stated. “We’ve had some pretty good cars the last few weeks and hadn’t had the finishes we deserved.”

“And the guys had great pit stops there at the end when it counted,” Ragan continued. “We had a sixth- to a 10th-place car, I think, and track position meant a lot at the end. I am happy to get a top-10.”

In his sophomore season, Ragan has shown to have matured greatly to the sport. After finishing 28th in the point standings last year, the Roush Fenway driver has shown that he has what it takes and has done that by claiming the 13th position in this years standings with seven races left.

“I’ve learned that you only drive as hard as what you car’s capable of going, and I think we had a sixth- to a 10th-place car today and that’s where we finished,” Ragan said. “When you get in trouble is when try to get more than what your car’s got. I’ve learned that from a lot of guys – Jimmy and [car owner] Jack [Roush] and a lot of different people."
