According to the Associated Press, Paul Menard is expected to leave Dale Earnhardt Inc. at the conclusion of the 2008 season and make way to Yates Racing.

The official announcement of the Menard departure is anticipated to be made sometime today.

Although Menard is not the most productive driver, his arrival at Yates Racing will boost the rebuilding organization. Yates Racing has struggled to find a steady sponosor throughout the entire season, and the Menards sponsorship will bring that.

The seperation will put DEI in betweeen a rock and a hard place for 2009. The organization will only have one full time sponsor lined-up, Bass Pro Shops.
