Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has called a press conference on Thursday, July 10th at the Chicagoland Speedway for a sponsorship announcement and car unveiling. It is unclear whether this announcement and unveiling is for the team's much anticipated fourth team or one of its existing teams.

It was announced in April that RCR had secured General Mills as the sponsor of its fourth car, however no driver was named. In June, team officials announced that Caterpillar will replace AT&T on the hood of the No. 31 driven by Jeff Burton staring next season, and - although HardcoreRaceFans.com is not in the rumor business - word has been circulating that Jack Daniel's will be leaving the No. 07 Chevrolet after the 2008 season, opening that spot for another sponsor to step in.

Either way, Thursday's announcement will shed more light on what the 2009 season will have in store and be another domino falling in this year's Silly Season.
