With rain washing out most of the events at Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Thursday afternoon, the field for the Bank of America 500 Sprint Cup Series event was set according to owners points.

Points leader Jimmie Johnson will start on the pole for the seventh time this season. Carl Edwards is located on Johnson’s starboard side, making the fifth front row start for the Roush Fenway driver.

Charlotte area weather forecasters are calling for clear skies and temperatures in the mid-60’s at race time on Saturday evening. Hardcore Race Fans unable to make the trip to Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 can watch flag to flag coverage on ABC beginning at 7pm EST.
