Polesitter Jimmie Johnson may be up there by default, but with the speed he unleashed in the final practice session it's safe to say "he might have got it anyway". Circumnavigating Lowe's Motor Speedway at a speed of 183.007, Johnson was able set the fastest lap of the day earning the session's top spot.
With a few scorched feathers, Carl Edwards fell one spot from the first practice session. Despite improving his lap of 182.051 miles per hour to 182.908 miles per hour, he was only able to glide away with the second fastest spot.
Edwards' teammate Jamie Mcmurray (who also took the pole for the Nationwide event) has spread his agility throughout both series', recording a speed of 182.1 miles per hour in the final practice. Did someone turn on a hose? After being the second fastest driver in the first session, Kasey Kahne trickled down eighteen places and currently occupies the 20th spot. The Chase for the Sprint Cup will continue tomorrow night at Lowe's Motor Speedway, with the green flag scheduled to wave at 7pm EST on ABC.
