This weekend Clint Bowyer and his No. 07 Richard Childress Racing crew took home the Gillette TimeShaver Trophy at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. Awarded to the Gillette Young Gun team that spends the least amount of time on pit road, this week it was Bowyer's crew that got the job done better than anyone.

The Gil Martin-led crew beat the rest of the competition by over forty seconds throughout the night's 500 mile event, making this the second consecutive week the RCR team has taken home the TimeShaver Trophy. Although Bowyer could only salvage a 12th-place finish, his over-wall-crew gave him the best shot they could. Hitting pit road only three times, Bowyer spent a total of three minutes, twenty-two seconds and some change being serviced by some of RCR's best.

In the end, Martin and Bowyer chose to take four tires on their final stop of the day, while others opted for two tires or gas only. By taking four, Bowyer could do little to make up the track position.

"Track position ended up being everything at the end of the race," Bowyer explained. "We all thought four tires was going to be the way to go but the guys who only got gas or took two tires during the last pit stop had track position and just drove off. Everyone on the Jack Daniel's team did a great job fixing the car after we hit that wall in practice (Friday) and gave me a car that could run up front. We just came up short. I couldn't be happier for Jeff Burton and all the 31 guys. They made a great call at the end that's what won them the race."

Each week of the ten-race Chase, six of the forty-three drivers compete against each other not only for the win but also in the Gillette TimeShaver Challenge. Gillette Young Guns Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards and Clint Bowyer not only race to be the top driver at the end of the day, but also the team that spends the least amount of time on pit road.
