Biffle Finishes 12th, Moves Up To Second
Monday, 20 October 2008 06:37

Going into Martinsville Speedway 89 points behind Jimmie Johnson in the third spot in the standings, Greg Biffle was able to collect a 12th place finish and move up to second in the point standings.

Biffle's 12th place effort was his second best finish at the speedway, and the Roush Fenway driver left Martinsville pleased with the way the TUMS QuickPak 500 unfolded.

“We had a great day to come out of here 12th,” Biffle said. “We wanted a top-10 finish. That’s what we were shooting for and we came up two positions short of that. We led a lap, got out front, but unfortunately, we had that pickup where we ran out of gas or I got off pit sequence and that cost us, but we fought back and 12th-place is a dang good finish for us here."

With two 1.5 mile tracks approaching on the horizon, Biffle has all intentions of kicking it up a notch. Biffle is confident that he is able to catch Johnson before the conclusion of the season.

“I’m still confident we can catch him, for sure,” Biffle stated. “We’re gonna come and get them. We’ve got four more chances and we’re going to some of our best places, so they better be on their A-game. I know they have been so far, but we’re gonna bring the heat to Atlanta and all the rest of the places and see what we can do.”
