Didn't this just happen last week, and the week before? Once again, Mother Nature has ruined another Friday at the racetrack for NASCAR. Rain soaked the Atlanta Motor Speedway early this morning with green surrounding the race track on the radar.
Rain has ruined the last two Friday's on the NASCAR schedule, creating a wash-out at both Lowe's Motor Speedway and Martinsville Speedway. Jet driers are currently creeping along the mile-and-a-half track in an attempt to stay on top of things and keep the track dry.
The weekend's opening practice session for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has already been postponed, while it looks as if their second session will be a wash as well. There is one practice scheduled at 3:00pm E.T. for the Cup Series, in addition to Coors Light Qualifying at 6:45pm E.T. If Mother Nature does not give in and does in fact wash out all of today's on-track action, this will mark not only the third weekend in a row, but an astonishing tenth time on the season. While the track is surrounded by green on the radar, it appears the worst of the weather has come and gone.
