Kodak Ending 'Picture Perfect' Venture In NASCAR
Thursday, 30 October 2008 07:15

In 1986 Kodak entered NASCAR and began to advertise the company in front of many Hardcore Race Fans. 22 years later Kodak has announced that it will leave the sport.

With the departure of NASCAR, Kodak will begin to venture more into professional golf. With 60 percent of the company's sells coming from overseas, Kodak also looks to target the international market.

With four Daytona 500 victories for Kodak, it's no secret that the photography company had some success in NASCAR. The most recent came this year when Ryan Newman drove into Daytona's Victory Lane.

Penske Racing will not get another shot at taking Kodak to Victory Lane again as they are ending their sponsorship of the race team as well.

"Just as we have transformed our company, we are transforming our marketing," said Kodak's vice president of corporate marketing and branding, Betty Noonan. "We want to express our deepest thanks to our friends at NASCAR and Penske Racing for their partnership and support. We remain big fans."
