In 1999 Lowe’s Companies, Inc. bought the naming rights for the 1.5 mile superspeedway formerly known as Charlotte Motor Speedway. It has been announced that the company will continue it’s sponsorship for the tenth year, as Lowe’s will remain the title sponsor in 2009.
President and general manager of Lowe’s Motor Speedway Marcus Smith is thrilled that the partnership will continue for another year. "This is great news for Lowe's Companies and Lowe's Motor Speedway," stated Smith. "Both companies have found a mutually beneficial way to continue what's been a very successful partnership and position ourselves to strengthen the relationship for the future.”
Hardcore Race Fans are sure to reap the benefits with the speedway celebrating it’s 50th year of NASCAR racing, as well as the 10 year anniversary with Lowe’s. "While this is a win-win for both companies, the biggest winners will be our race fans,” Smith said. “Next year will be a celebration of 50 fabulous years of racing at Lowe's Motor Speedway, and with Lowe's continued support, we will do extraordinary things to entertain our fans at the only speedway in the world to host three NASCAR Sprint Cup weekends."
