Officially out of the running for the title, Roush Fenway Racing?s Greg Biffle is now focused on ending the year with a win at one of his best tracks. Trailing Jimmie Johnson by 203 points, Biffle heads to Homestead this weekend happy with his season and looking to add another mark in the win column.
Already with two wins this year, Biffle couldn't ask for a better track to end the season. In six tries, Biffle has three victories (2004, 2005 and 2006) at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Finishing thirteenth there last season, the driver of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion is optimistic about his chances. "We're going to Homestead this weekend to try to end the season with a win," Biffle clearly stated. "That's really all we can do. It's unfortunate that we're not a factor in the championship anymore but we can still try to win one more. I've obviously had success at Homestead in the past and when you win there, you're the most recent race winner until you get to Daytona." Always a threat on the track, this year Biffle has had a bit of help from his over the wall crew. One of the best on pit road, quick stops and quick thinking has allowed the No. 16 team to contend for wins week-in and week-out. With everything finally coming together throughout the year, Biffle and the Greg Erwin-led team were a serious threat for this year's title. "We've learned a lot this year and the team has really come together," Biffle added. "I'd put this pit crew up against anyone on pit road and I think we're finally at a point where we're fine-tuning the rest of the program. I'm excited about Homestead and the possibility of getting another with for 3M in 2008 before we start looking ahead to more wins in 2009." With two wins, 12 top-5s and 17 top-10s so far this season, Biffle showed he is a serious threat for the championship. Despite coming up short this year, this season is nothing to fret about - especially if seals the deal and scores his fourth win at Homestead this weekend.
