On-track activity for the Cup cars has been completed for the day and Denny Hamlin was able to put the No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota atop the leader board after the hour-long final practice. Posting a fast lap of 32.841 seconds at a speed of 164.429 mph, Hamlin backed up his second-fastest lap from the day's previous practice session.
Three-time Homestead winner Greg Biffle put the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion second on the speed charts, with Scott Speed behind him in third.
Championship leader Jimmie Johnson posted the fourth-fastest lap, while Carl Edwards could only run the twenty-third fastest time of the session. Jeff Gordon, Jamie McMurray, Brian Vickers, Reed Sorenson, Dave Blaney and Tony Stewart rounded out the rest of the top-10. With all of the weekend's practice sessions now complete, teams are putting their heads together and putting the final touches on their cars in order to get them ready for tomorrow's season finale. The Ford 400 is scheduled for a 4:30 pm E.T. start, with coverage beginning at 4 pm E.T.
