Heading into the 2008 season, sophomore driver David Ragan decided that he would set a goal of making the Chase. Missing the Chase by just two spots when the checkered flag waved at Richmond, Ragan is still pleased with how his second season in the Cup Series unraveled.

With six top-5 and 14 top-10 finishes, the second year driver placed himself in the highest position known to non-Chase drivers - 13th. In addition to his 13th place efforts, Ragan completed more laps than any driver in the circuit.

“Our goal for 2008 was to make the Chase,” stated Ragan. “Unfortunately we didn’t achieve that, but we came very close and ran consistently so in my eyes it was still a successful season. We finished 13th which is the next best thing to making the Chase."

With a consistent season behind him, it is safe to say that Ragan will head into his third year in the series with the respect of his competitors.

Jimmy Fennig will remain with the No. 6 team as they attempt to assemble a Chase contending run with UPS providing the primary sponsorship.

"It’s been great having AAA as a sponsor, but I’m excited for next year with UPS." Ragan continued, "I’ve got all my same team moving into 2009 and we should be good right from the start. I need to do my part and work on road courses, but besides that we’ll keep our goal of making the Chase and winning races.”
