JGR Slowing Things Down With Raybestos
Monday, 15 December 2008 10:04

With 10 victories in NASCAR's top series in 2008, it didn't seem that Joe Gibbs Racing was interested in slowing down.

Think again.

After extensive testing, Joe Gibbs Racing has decided to exclusively run Raybestos brakes for the 2009 season.

“Racing in today’s NASCAR circuit is more competitive than ever,” stated Jimmy Makar, Senior Vice President of Racing Operations for Joe Gibbs Racing. “With the field so evenly matched, an advantage like better brakes can easily make the difference between winning and losing. Raybestos has always been a leader in state-of-the-art braking technology, and these components have really proven themselves to us in testing. We’re very excited to be racing on Raybestos brakes in 2009 and beyond.”

We all know that a powerful engine is key to successful races, but it is a stout braking system that keeps the car off of the wall.

Josh Russell, Vice President of Marketing for Affinia, manufacturer of Raybestos brand brakes is excited about the partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing, and looks foward to the 2009 season.

“We are thrilled about JGR’s decision to run the complete Raybestos brake package,” commented Russell. “Alcon’s expertise was instrumental in development of the new caliper design, and along with our rotors and friction, Raybestos now offers an unparalleled racing brake system that will help give JGR’s Toyotas the advantage they need on raceday.”
