With more than 1,000 motorsports professionals laid off in the past couple months, there is a new hope on the horizon. Former Dale Earnhardt Inc. employee Don Gemmel along with others let go by the organization launched a website to assist those in need of a job. Gemmel and company went live with www.DontCheckUp.com last month in an effort to make the best of the motorsports industry's current struggle.
The main goal of the website is to "reach out and provide assistance to workers displaced from area NASCAR teams due to the recent economic downturn," as said on the website. Those seeking a job simply post a resume on the site to be looked at by numerous employers. Partnered with the North Carolina Motorsports Association, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and McLaughlin Young Group, DontCheckUp.com can serve as a great boost to those let go in the motorsports industry to find a job.
