Veteran driver Joe Nemechek has not let his release from Furniture Row Racing and tough economic conditions ruin his determination. The 45-year-old driver announced Friday he is reviving his NEMCO Motorsports and plans to run the full Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series schedules in 2009, starting with the Daytona 500 and the Camping World 300 at Daytona International Speedway.
"Front Row" Joe will climb behind the No. 87 Toyota Camry in the Sprint Cup Series, while piloting the No. 87 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in the Nationwide Series.
"We are confident about acquiring sponsorship for 12 Cup races," Nemechek explained. "We're working to secure sponsorship for the remaining 24 events and also for a number of Nationwide races. We have an excellent opportunity for a company interested in pursing a cost-effective motorsports sponsorship. Anyone interested can e-mail us at

. We want to race and put people back to work in these tough economic times." Calling the shots for Nemechek will be long-time crew chief Philippe Lopez. Not only serving as crew chief, Lopez will oversee the competition side of both series for NEMCO Motorsports. "We have a lot of exciting things happening at NEMCO," Nemechek went on to say. "Having Philippe join us is a huge plus for our program. We were also able to acquire excellent equipment and are in position to run an economic yet competitive program." Since making his Sprint Cup Series debut in 1993, Nemechek has 4 wins, 18 top-5s, 62 top-10s and 10 pole positions. Nemechek also has 274 Nationwide Series starts since his debut in 1989, recording 16 wins, 73 top-5s, 121 top-10s and 18 pole positions.
