Thursday, 29 January 2009 08:19

After the Coke Zero 400 weekend in July, Daytona International Speedway took on efforts of improving the Superstretch to better accomodate the Hardcore Race Fans.

The improvements have been completed, and consist of:

  • Widened roads and expanded loading/unloading zones for the Lot 10
    parking lot.
  • Improved lighting and an increase in restroom facilities.
  • New large video screens along the Superstretch and the brand new
Budweiser Beer Garden and Budweiser Entertainment Stage.

"We recognized the need to improve the Superstretch after the 50th running of the Daytona 500 last year," Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig commented. "With improved parking and tram services and other new amenities, these are significant steps that will take the fans' overall race experience at 'The World Center of Racing' to a new level."

Those attending the DIRECTV Speedweeks will be first to see the newimprovements. Tickets are still available, and can be purchased online at http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP.
