Keselowski Set To Make 2009 Cup Debut
Wednesday, 25 February 2009 08:09

This weekend Brad Keselowski will attempt to qualify the No. 25 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet at Las Vegas, marking the first of seven Sprint Cup events that he is scheduled to compete in with Hendrick Motorsports in 2009.

With two Cup Series starts under his belt, Keselowski scored his best finish of 19th at Texas Motor Speedway in November, 2008.

"I am really excited to be getting back behind the wheel of the No. 25 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports at Las Vegas," stated Keselowski. "I feel like we were able to do some good things last season that we will be able to build on this year. My Hendrick Motorsports team is really strong, and I know they have a good car for me. I really think we are going to surprise some folks this season with good, solid finishes, and I'm just thrilled to have the opportunity to do it."

In his short career, Keselowski has made three previous starts at Las Vegas in the Nationwide and Truck Series'. Nothing to be excited about, Keselowski's best Vegas outing came in 2008 when he was involved in a late race incident forcing him to settle with a 23rd place finish.

Crew chief Lance McGrew will sit atop the No. 25 pit box in the seven events this season. Coaching Keselowski to respectable finishes in his two Cup starts in 2008, McGrew most recently helped put Tony Stewart in Victory Lane for the Nationwide Series race at Daytona.

"It's great to be working with Lance (McGrew) again this season," Keselowski said. "He brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the team, and I feel like he and I are able to communicate well, which is really important when we're trying to make adjustments on the car. We are both so focused on getting solid finishes in this No. 25 car."
