The display will take fans through the years by allowing them to get an up-close look at historic race cars, artifacts, memorabilia and video. Some of the highlights that will be on display are the original articles of incorporation signed by Bruton Smith and Curtis Tuner in 1959, Joe Lee Johnson's winning trophy from first World 600 in 1960, Bobby Allison's 1969 No. 12 Mercury that took the checkered flag in 1971 and David Pearson's 1971 No. 21 Wood Brothers Mercury that won the pole in 1973 kicking off an 11-race streak of pole winning runs. There will also be an autograph area where fans can meet some of the sport's biggest stars and a place for photos with a victory lane backdrop. Lowe's Motor Speedway is one of the premier tracks on the NASCAR circuit and a favorite of many Hardcore Race Fans. Celebrating their 50th year of racing on the 1.5-mile speedway, the track is bringing a bit of its history to the fans and thanking them for being the driving force for so many years. "The 50 Years of Firsts history display is our way to honor our fans by giving them the chance to stroll down memory lane and see things most have never seen before," Smith went on to say.
