Hardcore Race Fans in Grand Prairie, Texas got one sweet deal on Tuesday as they waited up to four hours for an oil change at the local Mobil 1 Lube Express. However, this was no ordinary oil change. Fans gathered as early as 8 a.m. on Tuesday for a chance to take part in a deal that included an oil change, two tickets to Sunday’s Samsung 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway and an autograph by Penske Racing’s Sam Hornish Jr. – all for just $29.60.

The promotion ran from noon on Tuesday until 2 p.m., with the Mobil 1 Lube Express crew servicing seventy-two vehicles during that time span.  One fan - Kelli Gormsen of Sachse, Texas - was lucky enough to receive the special deal for free, in addition to having Hornish Jr. and Gossage assist with the oil change.

“I was told this was one of Mobil 1’s most successful events of this nature and it doesn’t surprise me knowing how many great NASCAR fans we have here in Texas,” explained Gossage. “It was truly great to see the excitement on their faces over this deal and also for them to get a chance to visit with Sam. This was definitely a throw-back promotion and a lot of fun. I do, though, think I need to work on my oil change technique.”
