With over 6,000 locations across the United States, Hunt Brothers Pizza is excited about their new partnership with Allmendinger and Richard Petty Motorsports.
“Partnering with Richard Petty Motorsports is exciting for everyone involved with Hunt Brothers,” Scott Hunt, CEO of Hunt Brothers Pizza added. “We feel blessed to be in a position to support AJ while connecting with our convenience store customers, many of whom are NASCAR fans. Getting the opportunity to work with "The King" Mr. Richard Petty, AJ Allmendinger and all the professionals at Richard Petty Motorsports, offers us a unique opportunity. We are excited and looking forward to seeing the Hunt Brothers Dodge on the track.”
Going into the season unsure of his future, Allmendinger was able to secure a part-time ride with Richard Petty Motorsports prior to the Daytona 500. Despite being outside the top-35 in owner points, Allmendinger made the season opening Daytona 500 and finished an impressive third. Required to qualify on time for each of the first events, Allmendinger was the only driver besides Tony Stewart that made each attempt in 2009.
Now locked in the top-35 and with this new partnership with Hunt Brothers Pizza, the former open-wheel driver is optimistic about his future.
“I think we have shown that we have the ability to run up front in this series,” Allmendinger said of his early season progress. “I think you are going to see our results get progressively better the longer this team stays together. We started the year putting an emphasis on qualifying, but now that we are locked in the starting field we can turn our attention to the race and that's going to help our race results. We are committed to making this thing work and I think we offer a great opportunity for Hunt Brothers, our existing partners as well as any partner looking to be part of NASCAR and Richard Petty Motorsports.”
Team CEO Tom Reddin knows that Allmendinger’s success has been key in securing sponsors such as Hunt Brothers Pizza and extending the future of the No. 44 team.
“AJ has done a heck of a job placing the No. 44 in the top 20, and we've been able to form some great partnerships along the way with Hunt Brothers Pizza, Dodge, Valvoline, Charter Communications, Harrah's, Super 8 Hotels and Paralyzed Veterans of America,” Reddin said of the team’s newest driver. “The success we are having on and off the track has helped us extend our schedule for the 44 team at least through the second Richmond race, and with a little help from some additional partners, we should have a good shot at making a successful full season. We think the on-track performance of the 44 team, AJ's personality, and all the assets of the Richard Petty Motorsports organization makes this team a very attractive and unique opportunity for potential partners.”
Allmendinger will carry the Hunt Brothers Pizza colors on the No. 44 Dodge starting at Talladega on April 26, with additional races at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in both the All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600, the July 11 race in Chicagoland, August 22 at Bristol, September 6 in Atlanta and September 12 in Richmond.
