Phoenix Names Goddard Honorary Race Official

phoenix-international-racewayPhoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber has announced the selection of Arizona Attorney General Samuel “Terry” Goddard as an Honorary Race Official for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 set for Saturday April 18, 2009.

 

 

“I am honored to welcome the NASCAR nation back to Arizona and Phoenix International Raceway,” said Goddard. “Arizona appreciates the excitement the drivers and their teams bring to our community twice yearly.”

 

 

Goddard will participate in pre-race ceremonies for the first official night race of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Goodard is scheduled to welcome the drivers of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to Phoenix International Raceway on behalf of the State of Arizona at the start/finish line prior to the start of the race.

 

 

“We are delighted that Terry Goddard will be joining us as an honorary race official for the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500," Sperber said. "Terry has been a supporter of NASCAR racing and PIR for many years and it will be a pleasure to have him as part of our festivities.”
