Mark Martin Collects Phoenix Pole

Turning a lap of 26.903 seconds at a speed of 133.814 miles per hour, Mark Martin earned his first career pole position at Phoenix International Raceway.

 

Hendrick Motorsports has dominated the track in the recent years, and looks to continue as the series makes their first appearance at the track of the season.

 

Kyle Busch was able to collect the second starting position for Saturday night’s race by circling the track in 26.921 seconds at a speed of 133.725 miles per hour.

 

Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon and Brian Vickers rounded out the top-5 of Saturday night’s starting field.

 

Defending race winner Jimmie Johnson will kick off the Subway Fresh Fit 500 in the 10th spot.
