Despite heavy rains throughout the day, the engines are fired and the action is getting ready to heat up on the .75-mile Richmond International Raceway. The Crown Royal Presents The Russ Friedman 400 is set for 400 laps, 300 miles and the pit road speed this afternoon is 40 mph.
The keys to tonight's 400-lap race are keeping an eye on the weather, keeping the brakes cool and not abusing them, adjusting to the green race track, staying out of trouble and keeping the tempers in check.
Tonight's drivers to watch are hometown favorite Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. That being said, anyone can score an upset and take the win. Be sure to check back to HardcoreRaceFans.com to follow all the latest news and results from tonight's Russ Friedman 400. NOTE: The Russ Friedman 400 was started under a green-yellow condition. In an effort to dry the track, the cars are running single-file behind the pace car as the laps are counting. MORE NASCAR CUP NEWS
