With the second week of action at Lowe’s Motor Speedway underway, several race teams in the Concord area are taking the extra step to make the Hardcore Race Fans’ visit to Race Country USA as pleasant as possible.
Attempting to catch the eye of the Hardcore Race Fan, a number of NASCAR’s top teams have scheduled ‘Fan Days’ to give the fans a chance to meet their favorite drivers and see what happens behind the scenes between races.
Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) will begin their events on Tuesday, May 19 at the team’s shop by handing out wristbands to 300 Hardcore Race Fans on a first come first serve basis. The wristband will grant access to the autograph session on Wednesday, May 20 from 11am - 1pm. All MWR drivers will be present for the session. Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) will begin their Speedweek endeavors at the team headquarters on Thursday, May 21. At 8am a limited number of tickets will be given to the first Hardcore Race Fans that show up. From 10am -1pm fans will have to opportunity to collect autographs from the RFR drivers. RFR will continue their revels on Friday, May 22 from 11am - 2pm with pit stop exhibitions. On Friday, May 22 Yates Racing will give out 150 tickets to the first Hardcore Race Fans to show up at 8am. The tickets will permit the fans to partake in the autograph session held at the Yates Racing shop at 10am. Bobby Labonte, Paul Menard and Doug Yates will be present for the autograph session.
Earnhardt Ganassi Racing (EGR) drivers will hold special autograph sessions beginning at 3pm on Friday, May 22. Martin Truex Jr. will hold an autograph session at the Bass Pro Shops store at the Concord Mills Mall at 3pm. Starting at 1pm wristbands will be given out at the Bass Pro Shops to guarantee an autograph for the first 300 fans. Juan Pablo Montoya will be hosting an autograph session at the Target store located in the Afton Ridge shopping center in Concord, NC from 4:30pm - 5:30pm. A line will become open at 3:30 pm, and the first 200 fans to show up will be granted one autograph. With no shortage of attractions for the Hardcore Race Fan, be sure to go out and visit your favorite team’s race shop as they prepare to hit the track once again at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
