Hamlin Quickest In Day’s First Practice

denny-hamlinAfter morning showers, the Sprint Cup cars were able to enjoy a dry track with overcast skies during the day’s first practice session. Lasting just forty-five minutes, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin topped the charts with his No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota. Hamlin ran a total of twenty-seven laps during the session, posting the fastest speed of 184.338 mph.

 

Roush Fenway Racing’s Greg Biffle was second-quick in his No. 16 3M/Red Cross Ford. Biffle circled the 1.5-mile speedway a total of twenty-six times, with his fastest lap coming at 184.143 mph. Casey Mears was third-fastest in his No. 07 Jack Daniel’s Chevrolet, while Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers rounded out the top-5 in their Toyotas.

 

greg-biffleThe teams have gone back to the garage area and are currently putting the final touches on the car in preparation for Saturday’s final practice session, set for 6pm E.T.
