Busch Fastest In Day’s Opening Practice

kyle-buschJoe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch topped the speed charts in Saturday’s opening practice session for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the Dover International Speedway. The driver of the No. 18 M&Ms Toyota ran a total of thirty-nine laps in the session, with his fastest – 23.451 seconds at 153.512 mph – coming on his first.

 

Kasey Kahne continued to show his strength by putting his Budweiser Dodge second on the leaderboard for the third time this weekend. The driver of the No. 9 was second fastest in the weekend’s opening practice session, qualified in the second-spot and ended Saturday’s opening practice in second with a lap of 23.508 seconds at a speed of 153.129 mph.

 

Pole sitter David Reutimann also continued his strong run this weekend by ending the forty-five minute session third on the speed charts. The driver of the No. 00 Aaron’s Dream Machine posted a lap of 23.532 seconds at 152.983 mph in his Toyota.

 

kasey-kahneRoush Fenway Racing teammates Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray and Greg Biffle were next on the speed charts, while Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Brian Vickers and Clint Bowyer rounded out the top-10.

 

The Sprint Cup cars are currently in the garage with teams making adjustments and preparing for the final hour-long practice session of the weekend.
