Practice Makes Perfect

denny-hamlinIn the weekend’s final practice session before the Autism Speaks 400 presented by Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips and Cheese, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin put his No. 11 FedEx Office Toyota atop the leaderboard. Running a total of seventy-one laps – more than any other driver – Hamlin worked on race runs throughout the hour-long session.

 

Three-time Dover winner Jimmie Johnson was second-fastest in the weekend’s final practice session with a fast-lap of 23.918 seconds at a speed of 150.514 mph. Johnson will roll off from the eighth-spot for Sunday’s race.

 

Kyle Busch was third-fastest, while Martin Truex Jr. and Casey Mears rounded out the top-5. Pole sitter David Reutimann was 21st-fastest at the end of the session.

 

Sunday’s 400-mile event at the Monster Mile is scheduled for a 2pm E.T. start with driver introductions set for 1:30pm.
