On Thursday, June 11, the Brooklyn- Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce will throw a race weekend celebration in order to gratify the Hardcore Race Fans in the area.
The Brooklyn-Irish Hills Race Fest presented by Country Market is scheduled to begin at noon and run to 11pm. The festival will feature activities such as a car cruise in downtown Brooklyn, go-kart racing at Brooklyn Speedway, live music, racing simulators, kids rides, show cars and of course… good food!
"We’re excited about the Brooklyn-Irish Hills Race Festival presented by Country Market," executive director of the Brooklyn-Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce, Cindy Hubbell said. "MIS has been a wonderful asset to the local community for more than 40 years and this festival will help kickoff the track’s NASCAR season. We really want the community and fans to attend this event and make it something special this summer." Admission to the merriment is free, and free shuttles will navigate between many of Michigan International Speedway’s campgrounds and Race Fest to insure that every Hardcore Race Fan wishing to go may have the opportunity. "We’re hoping to make this festival something that our local community can enjoy before our June NASCAR event weekend," speedway President Roger Curtis noted. "We’ve appreciated their support, as well as the support of other surrounding communities the past 42 years because MIS employees live, work and play right here in the Irish Hills." The racing action is scheduled to begin on June 12 with the ARCA/REMAX Series Racing for Wildlife 200, followed by the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event on June 13 and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will hit the track for the LifeLock 400 on June 14.
