ncma-event-1This past Tuesday, June 9th, 2009, a networking event co-hosted by the North Carolina Motorsports Association (NCMA) and the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce was held at JR Motorsports in Mooresville, N.C.

"This is a networking mixer and it's open both to members and non-members of the Motorsports Association," Andy Papathanassiou, Executive Director of the NCMA said. "We use it for networking, catching up with old friends in the business that maybe you don't see too often and meeting some new people as well, so it fulfills all of those functions for us. It's just a fun sort of light-hearted event with a motorsports flair."

Thos in attendance were treated to food catered by The Hickory Tavern in Mooresville and beer from Carolina Blonde. Other event sponsors were in attendance and most donated door-prizes for attendees. JR Motorsports donated a Dale Jr. Spotter GPS Navigation system for a raffle; tickets for the raffle were available for a $5 donation with all proceeds going to the Iredell County Humane Society.

ncma-event-2These networking events are planned quarterly and they average 200 attendees. The event held at JR Motorsports this week was sold-out.

"This is extremely successful. JR Motorsports was a great partner for us," Papathanassiou said. "The Chamber helped market it and we marketed it to our folks and everybody likes to come up here and see where Junior runs his team from."
