Friday, 19 June 2009 04:19

bruton-smithIn May of this year, New Hampshire Motor Speedway attained the necessary permits to undergo the speedway's infield renovation project after 18 months of preparation by newfound owner Bruton Smith, Chairman and CEO of Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI).

After two months of construction the speedway's transformation has almost reached the finishing point.

The speedway is most proud of the increase of the infield's efficiency. Resulting in a 400 percent increase of useable land, the infield grew from one and a half useable acres to nearly seven.

The interior fencing has also been replaced with black chain link.

The victor of the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on June 28 will earn the honors to be the first to experience the new Victory Lane which was another piece of the reconstruction. However, Vice President of Operations and Development John Zudell stated that it will serve as an "interim Victory Lane" as there are additional plans for the facility.

A Pre-Race Pit Pass has been made available to the Hardcore Race Fans wishing to view the made over infield, and will hit the market on June 25. Grandstand tickets are currently on sale. Only $99, The MegaTicket package allows fans to visit the track for all three events at the venue.

Additionally, a ticket to the LENOX Speed Zone section is only $39.
